Château St. Gerlach

The staff of this hotel is incredible - everyone is polite and helpful. The territory is absolutely marvelous with an extensive sculpture collection and well maintained greenery. The fact that it has its own wellness facilities was the selling point for me to book this specific property.

Everything was excellent, especially considering that the hotel was having some renovation work done and there were clearly issues with IT and some organisation due to one building being out of action. But considering those handicaps the place did remarkably well and the dogs absolutely adored it - wonderful, safe country walking, their first geese, plenty of interesting artworks ......and total peace and quiet. I would put in a special mention for the excellent , charming service - nothing was too much trouble, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The dogs would say, if they could, that they LOVED their smart khaki padded beds, the generous bowls of dog treats, the designer poo bags and the admiring pats from one of the staff, who slipped them a few extra nibbles.....

Breakfast was superb. Lots of choice (some a la carte dishes included) and great service by the staff. Comfortable and large bed, room was very spacious. Couple of free drinks in the minibar. Very quiet. Accidentally left my jacket behind, for a small fee it will be sent to me.

The grounds of the hotel and convenient for both Maastricht and Valkenberg. Enjoyed the spa facilities

Our stay at St Gerlach was excellent. We visited during the week for a short getaway from Amsterdam (arrived by train and it was a 10 min walk from the station to the property. The grounds, the food, the staff and especially staff were all exquisite. From Nikki at breakfast to Maarten and Iyla at dinner, chef Otto and his beautiful farm which we got a tour of. We were treated like queens and given so much love that we promised to be back.
